Introducing the latest Vivo smartphone, the X90 Pro, which boasts a camera-centric design with a large glass circle on the back and a vegan leather finish. But is it worth all the hype, and can it beat other camera phones in 2023? Let’s find out in our Vivo X90 Pro review.
The X90 Pro is Vivo’s middle sibling in their new lineup, and the highest tier that will be available outside of the Chinese market. It features a huge one-inch type sensor, similar to the Xiaomi 12s Ultra, a cutting-edge MediaTek chipset, lightning-fast wired and wireless charging, and a high-resolution AMOLED display.
In terms of aesthetics, the X90 Pro is an evolution of last year’s X80 Pro. The vegan leather backing offers an excellent grip, and the back panel curves into a thin aluminum frame. The round camera bump is larger and stands alone, surrounded by a glossy etched metal band below the camera. The device is waterproof and dust-resistant with an IP68 rating.
The front of the phone boasts a 6.8-inch curved AMOLED display with a 1260 by 2800 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a support for 10-bit color depth and HDR 10 plus. The display is plenty bright, measuring 520 nits maximum with a manual brightness slider, and a boost up to 930 nits in auto mode during bright conditions.
The phone features an optical fingerprint scanner under the display, which is fast and reliable, and a pair of stereo speakers that deliver excellent sound quality with likable mid-tones and well-presented highs and bass. The device comes with either 256 or 512GB of onboard storage, but it’s not expandable through microSD.
The global version of the X90 Pro runs Funtouch OS 13 on top of Android 13, with full Google support and plenty of customization options for the home screen, lock screen, and animation effects. The device comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 chipset, which is top of the line, and a 6th gen AI processing unit. The X90 Pro provides excellent CPU and graphics performance, with support for advanced memory tech like UFS 4.0 and LP DDR 5x RAM.
To wrap up, the Vivo X90 Pro offers cutting-edge technology and excellent performance, all packaged in a sleek, camera-centric design.
